Housing Adaptions Policy - an opportunity for older people to comment
Capability Scotland is holding 3 events for older and disabled people to give them the opportunity to comment on housing adaptations policy in Scotland. Capability is part of a group that is making recommendations to the Scottish Government about:
- How to make sure older and disabled people have access to the adaptations they need
- How adaptations should be paid for
- Who should be responsible for the process of making adaptations (ie. should it be the local authority, the landlord, voluntary organisations or the homeowner)
If you are interested in this or if you have had difficulties getting adaptations made to your home in the past then we'd be very keen to hear your views on the groups recommendations. Capability Scotland will be holding the following events in order to explain the recommendations and to hear your thoughts:
Glasgow; Glasgow Centre for Independent Living; Friday 17th August 2012; 1:30pm - 4pm
Edinburgh; Capability Head Office; Monday 20th August 2012; 1:30pm - 4pm
Inverness; Inshes Church; Friday 24th August 2012; 1:30pm - 4pm
