Development / Capacity Building Officer

Lyndsay joined CVS Fife in March 2007 as Fundrasing Standards Board Pilot Project Worker. During 2006-07 she was an Information & Development Worker with CVS Stirling. Prior to that Lyndsay taught English and was a translator in Barcelona. She has an Honours Degree in French Studies from the University of Aberdeen.

Lyndsay has a number of roles and responsibilities within CVS Fife:

Organisational Support

She is responsible for support new community groups and small voluntary organisations to become constituted bodies. Through working with group members or steering committees she can help these small groups focus on their main areas of activities and articulate them in terms acceptable in a Constitution. Lyndsay also guides small organisations through the process of successfully applying for Charitable Status with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). She can also help organisations of any size understand and implement policies on issues surrounding Disclosure Checks.

Working with the Manager and Deputy Manager in CVS Fife, Lyndsay can also assist organisations with funding applications, issues are charity and governance legislation, Board Member support and other governance issues such as:

She also works to support the Digital Fife project in Fife, providing technical support as well as training and development assistance in the project.

Network Support

Lyndsay is responsible for providing both organisational and developmental support to the Voluntary Sector Children’s Forum, the three Health & Wellbeing Forums and all the representational activities that these fora undertake. This includes supporting the voluntary sector representatives on the Community Health Partnerships and the various representatives that come from the Voluntary Sector Children’s Forum.

Lyndsay works closely with the Deputy Manager and ICT Officer to enhance the activities of the Fora.
