In addition to developing and supporting CVS Fife's IT systems, the ICT Adviser can offer advice and practical assistance to voluntary organisations in the Fife area:

• Networking computers and connecting to the internet
• Developing databases and systems
• Procurement advice
• Security and anti-virus protection

On these pages I hope to provide useful information on a range of IT topics, with links to useful sites, software tools and general IT resources.

CVS Fife Website

Since 2004 I have been responsible for the redevelopment and maintenance of the CVS Fife website. During that time we have tried to improve the usability and accessibility of the site (a more accessible menu is due very soon). We have also added many new features:

• Online Training Programme
• e-Bulletin Service
• Funding Database
• News & Events

Much of the information on our website comes from the databases that we have built up over past few years. It helps us and it helps you if that information is up-to-date. If you see something that you think is incorrect or out-of-date, please let us know.

If you belong to a voluntary organisation operating in and around Fife and you are not listed on our site, you can download a form (50kb PDF) and register with us.

Ron Smith joined CVS Fife in December 2004 as Information & Communications Technology Adviser. Prior to this he worked as Computer Support Officer for the Community Education Service and Voluntary Sector with Tayside Regional Council and from 1996 as Systems Development Worker with Dundee City Council - mostly developing the Council's website.
