Joint Health Improvement Plan

The voluntary sector, through the Health & Wellbeing Forums and the CVS Fife website have been heavily involved in the development and creation of Fife’s Health & Wellbeing Alliance new Joint Health Improvement Plan (JHIP)

JHIPs are documents that the Scottish Executive Health Department have stated that each Community Planning Partnership are required to have. The JHIPs are intended to ‘set out objectives, strategies and actions for each partner organisation to improve health and reduce inequalities within the local population’.

The new JHIP for Fife is designed to be the key strategic document for leading the improvement of the health and wellbeing of the people of Fife. It contains focus areas designed to tackle health inequalities over the next three years. The Plan covers three themes which are:

The voluntary sector was consulted on the new JHIP through the Health & Wellbeing Forums which met during August and September last year and with facilitated sessions, commented on every focus area contained in the consultation document.

Following the publication of the 1st draft of the new plan, the sector was asked to comment via emails and other online responses.

This has resulted in the current draft of the plan which was approved in May 2007 and will be formally launched in October. You can download the final draft of the JHIP (3MB PDF).
