Applicant Criteria

Enhancing Communities is the name of SITA Trust's funding programme for community improvement projects. We can support projects around landfill sites owned by the waste management company, SITA UK. Not for profit organisations, community groups, parish councils, Local Authorities and charities can apply. The Major Carers Grant Programme will run again in 2007.

Funding Criteria

We support projects that make physical improvements to public amenities. This is a wide definition but may include: physical improvements to village halls, sports facilities, community facilities, museums, places of worship and historic buildings.

Amounts Awarded

There are two funding bands available -

1. Projects up to £25,000 - most applicants are eligible for this level of funding. Applicants for local community improvement projects can apply for up to £25,000.

2. Projects up to £150,000 - because of the higher level of funding available there are additional criteria that must be met. These higher value projects must be of regional significance (more guidance on what we mean by this is available in our guidance notes)
