Applicant Criteria

Charities in the Dunfermline area are invited to discuss their funding needs at a surgery taking place on Tuesday 16 September 2008 at Carnegie Library, Abbot Street, Dunfermline KY12 7NL. 45 minute appointments for a one-to-one consultation with an Assessor are available between 11am and 6.30pm and should be booked in advance. Disabled access to available - please mention this would be required when making an appointment.

The Foundation distributes its funds to recognised charities in Scotland which are focused on the needs of those who are disadvantaged and marginalised, with particular emphasis on grassroots charities, and organisations which help those most in need become self-sufficient or improve the quality of their lives.

Funding Criteria

Awards are made through a number of different routes:

The Standard Grant Scheme focuses on local charities working at grassroots level.
  • The Partnership Drugs Initiative targets children and young people who are at a higher risk of developing problems with substance misuse.
  • Capacity building Grantshelp charities review how well they are performing and put in place improvements
  • Overseas Grants support Scottish based charities carry out work in developing countries
  • Inspiring Scotland is a new venture philanthropy fund and it focuses on working to support 14 to 19 year olds struggling to make a successful transition from school to the next stage of their lives
