Applicant Criteria

Fife Environment Trust offers grant assistance to not-for-profit groups and organisations throughout Fife to undertake a wide range of projects designed to improve the quality of life of Fife communities.

Funding Criteria

FET runs two funding schemes, the General Landfill Tax scheme and the Fife Community Small Projects Scheme. Funding is directed at projects that meet one or more of the Trust’s five key priorities:

  • Reclamation of land whose use has been prevented by some previous activity
  • Reduction or prevention of pollution on land whose use has been prevented by some previous activity
  • Provision or maintenance of public amenities or parks which are within 10 miles of a landfill site, open to the public and not for profit.
  • Provision, conservation, restoration or enhancement of a natural habitat or the maintenance or recovery of a species in its natural habitat
  • Restoration of historical A or B listed buildings or structures

Amounts Awarded

The small projects scheme enables smaller groups to access funding more easily.

As a general rule, applicants can apply for between £500 and £5,000 up to a maximum intervention rate of 90% of total eligible costs.

As a general rule, applicants can apply for between £5,000 and £20,000 up to a maximum intervention rate of 50% under the General Landfill Tax scheme.

  • 31st March
  • 30th September

Approval on potential projects is taken by the FET board. The Fife Community Small Projects Scheme is a rolling scheme.
