Applicant Criteria

Currently grants are only available for constituted community groups.

Funding Criteria

Grants are made to groups across a wide spectrum of social welfare and community development activities.

The majority of SCF's funding is directed at locally-based work involving, and often initiated by, members of that local community. Therefore SCF currently only considers applications from smaller Scotland-based organisations that have an income of less than £250,000 per annum.

The Women's Fund raises funds for community organisations supporting women's personal development or involvement in their communities.

Amounts Awarded

Awards between £250 and £10,000 for a wide range of projects. Community Grants are one off sums of up to £5,000. A Small Grants Scheme operates under the Community Grants strand for amounts up to £5,000. The same amounts are available through the Women's Fund for Scotland.

Clasing Dates

No closing dates for the Community Grants. In the case of the Women's Fund for Scotland, the deadline is 15th December 2006. Applicants for International Women’s Day grants are encouraged not to wait until this date to make an application.

The current Sport Relief grants programme deadline is 29th September 2006.
