Activities

Angus Association of Voluntary Organisations is the Council for Voluntary Service in Angus. Councils for Voluntary Service (CVS) is the broad name given to the local umbrella organisations supporting the voluntary and community sector in Scotland. We play a crucial role in community development, working at grassroots level and supporting communities to gain a voice in decisions that affect them.
 
Since its formation in 1990, Angus Association of Voluntary Organisations (AAVO), has been instrumental in the development of many Angus groups - groups that are now established organisations in their own right. We play a major role in the voluntary and community sector and our key partners include Angus Community Planning Partnership, Angus Council, Angus College, NHS Tayside, Rural Tayside LEADER +, The Big Lottery Fund, Dundee Voluntary Action, Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Service, Angus Rural Partnership and Volunteer Centre Angus.
 
We are also heavily involved in local Forums including Angus Voluntary Sector Children's Services Forum, Angus Voluntary Sector Mental Health Forum, Angus Voluntary Sector Drugs and Alcohol Forum and Health & Homelessness Forum. These Forums provide important community focus for the statutory bodies engaged in the different fields.
