Our horticultural Annual Show was founded in 1905 and is one of the oldest in the country. There was a gap due to the war years and is now in its 80th year. Although there are numerous vegetables and flower sections there is also a handicraft section, baking and preserves and also numerous childrens classes, for all age groups. For the past few years, it has been an "open show" except for the "Best Gardens and Baskets" which is restricted to a 4 mile radius of the village.
