Eligibility - changes for 2008

Courses are open to volunteers and staff of voluntary organisations and community groups that are formally constituted and operating in Fife.

It should be noted that participants attending courses will be asked to provide personal details on their College enrolment form. This information is required by the College and the Scottish Executive as part of the conditions of our funding. The recording of this information will comply with the Data Protection Act and will not be passed on to other parties.

Should you have any queries about a particular course and whether or not it will meet your needs, please contact a member of the project staff.

Course Levels

Please note that where possible, we have put levels against courses offered in terms of who the course is aimed at, and also the course content, particularly with regard to the ICT courses. Where this applies, when the programme indicates the course is at a basic level, these courses are for those who may have some knowledge of computers but no knowledge or little knowledge of the particular software package/course being delivered. Intermediate level is aimed at those who have previously attended a beginners or basic course, or have a good knowledge of the software package/course being delivered. Advanced level is for those who have attended the intermediate level of that software package/course being covered.

Please feel free to call either Sandra or Ian if you are not sure whether a course is at a level suitable for you.

Course Fees

ESF Funded Courses - A cheque is not required with your booking. All bookings made over the telephone, fax, email or by post will be confirmed in writing and addressed to "The Manager" of your organisation.

If anyone from your organisation fails to attend a course that has been reserved, your organisation be invoiced for £25.00 in respect of each person that failed to attend without providing a reasonable excuse.

Non ESF Funded Courses - We offer these courses as they are frequently requested by participants in the training project, but unfortunately are not eligible for support through ESF. However, through our partnership, we are confident that we can offer these training opportunities to you at a very competitive and realistic price.

Some of the courses can be delivered in an organisation's own premises if requested at no extra cost. This may be a more flexible option for organisations with specific staff development requirements. If this is the case, please note that the majority of these courses have a minimum requirement of six attendees, maximum twelve.

The Elementary Food Hygiene Course has a minimum requirement of twelve attendees.

We understand that there may be other training needs that the sector requires and if you feel this is the case please let us know. We endeavour to meet these needs through either the ESF training project or by offering the training required at a charge.
